Rockabilly Means You’re Dead to Me
If you’re a “rock” band (hard rock, prog rock, punk rock, pop rock, etc.), and I find a rockabilly song on your album, not only am I not buying said album, but you’re dead to me. Don’t try to hide any genre-twisting Easter eggs on your album and expect me to stick around. It doesn’t just have to be Rockabilly. It could be Country, Dubstep, or even Folk. I actually like Folk, but it’s got no business on your ROCK album.
So stop the insanity, and light that rogue song on fire. I want no part of it, and I’ll show you exactly how much I’m offended by making sure you don’t ever get a penny of my hard-earned money for the rest of your career. Thanks to Spotify, I can hear the entire album before I set foot at a live show or take a risk on your CD, so you can’t trick me into making that purchase.
